A Journey of Faith, Family, and Calling
“Faith planted. Family grew. Calling continues.”
In 2012, Pastor Juoty Jalarue — known to us as Pastor Jay — moved his young family from Richmond, Virginia, to Kansas City, trusting God’s quiet nudge toward something new. He enrolled at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, hungry for a deeper understanding of the Word.
While still a student in 2013, he started a simple Bible study in his living room with family and friends. What began as a handful of seekers quickly grew into a passionate fellowship hungry for truth.
That same year, God opened an unexpected door: an introduction to Matt Marrs, Regional Director of the North American Mission Board (NAMB). Through NAMB and the Missouri Baptist Convention, Pastor Jay received training, funding, and a network of church-planting partners.
After months of prayer and counsel, the call became crystal clear: plant a church that proclaims the freeing truth of the Gospel (John 8:30–32).

House of God Community Church was officially launched on July 26, 2014.
Years later, the story is still being written—one life, one prayer, one testimony at a time.
The early years were marked by rented spaces, folding chairs, and relentless outreach. God faithfully sent pastors, leaders, and partners—some for a season, others for the long haul—who poured their lives into this mission.
In 2018, through partnerships with Briarcliff Church and Northland Church, we purchased our permanent home at 6101 N Topping Avenue—a miracle that still moves us to worship.
Officially Launched
Today, Pastor Jay continues to lead as the founding pastor, and Pastor M, our beloved Associate Pastor, has served faithfully by his side for the past four years. Together, with an ever-growing church family, we remain committed to one purpose:
To know, live, and proclaim the Truth that sets people free — wherever God sends us.
We give thanks for every servant, supporter, and soul who has walked this road with us. The story is still being written — one life, one prayer, one testimony at a time.

How Do I Become A Partner
Partners of the House of God Community Church (HGCC) are defined as individuals who are “all-in” on the mission of the church. Recognizing that no one is perfect, partners are committed to the best of their ability to submit themselves to the practices that scripture lays out for those who are a part of the local church.
